Wedding -
Their marriage certificate states Charles was a bachelor and Ethel was a widow. Gloria Bell is sure this is incorrect as she thinks Ethel's first husband Philip did not die until the late 1940s. Charles was an iron foundry labourer, Ethel a hosiery ironer, both of 33 Cowdall Road, Leicester.
Charles was age 30 (correct), Ethel was age 31 (incorrect, she was 32). Witnesses were James Green and Mavis Lucy Green (either Ethel's father and second wife, or Ethel's brother and sister-in-law.) Performed by Lionel P.Harris (registrar) & J.Clement Arnold (superintendant registrar).
