1953 - Bath Street, Belgrave area of Leicester. James and Annie (his second wife) were pictured attending a Coronation street party there, in the area known as The Green. This picture appeared on the Mr Leicester page in The Leicester Mercury on 15 June 2002. (Pictured taken by Maurice Dabbs of Leicester).

Wedding -
James was a bachelor aged 20 and a packer. Ethel May was a spinster aged 19 and a glover. Both gave their address as 19 Sarah Street, Leicester. Ethel's father listed as dead. Witnesses were Frederick Thomas Green and Ann Cook. Performed by Edward Atkins.
