1881 - "Cottage at back", 19 Satchwell Street, Leamington, Warwickshire. Boatman. Thomas and Emma were living with children Jabez, Ernest and John.

Although Thomas and Emma claimed to be married on children's birth certificates, Emma's death certificate etc. there is no proof. Ann Fairhurst (their descendant) does not think they ever did marry unless it was an illegal marriage on the canal as Thomas was a boatman.
