1911 - 0 acres broke, 0 acres cropped, 20 head of cattle
1912 - 8 acres broke, 0 acres cropped, 20 head of cattle
1913 - 4 more acres broke, 12 acres cropped, 16 head of cattle
1914 - 16 more acres broke, 12 acres cropped, 16 head of cattle. Plus 18 horses each year.
January 6th 1915: Ray had the patent for the above land to say it was now his: no cost as to what he had to pay.
This gives some light on the cost of things back then but the back breaking of the land would be something. This is where the horses come in the picture.
In 1919 Ray & Maude moved to Grandview, Manitoba, Canada. Their Homesteading days were over as this area was already established.
