BLACKBERRY

It seldom happens that husband and wife live together for 60 years, but the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, husbands and wives, were present to do honor to and celebrate the sixtieth anniversary of the venerable Mr and Mrs Thos Moulding. The couple now in their eightieth year, were married in Warrington, England, March 16, 1825. There are over fifty direct descendants of the pair, and twenty-seven of them were present and the old house offered a welcome - with room to spare. It was a happy gathering that talked over old times, and of the memory of loved ones departed. A beautiful easy chair, paintings and other presents were made. There were present of the children: Mr and Mrs Thos Moulding of Chicago; W R of Chicago; Jno J of Milwaukee; Dr F C and wife of Watertown; Mr and Mrs White, Mr and Mrs Chas Moulding, Mr and Mrs F Bennett, all of Blackberry. Mr Thos Moulding Jr, it will be remembered, was run for the legislature in the sixth senatorial district, Chicago, and got over 2,000 votes. But the Republican party saw fit to elect that temperance apostle, Mr Sittig, instead of Mr Moulding, to the present sorrow of the party, no doubt. The old people are loved and respected by all and have lived noble, upright lives, never touching liquor of any kind for over fifty years, and have grown old in a beautiful and happy way, a comfort to each other, an honor to and honored by the children who rise up and call them blessed.
