NOTES

Daresbury Church, where Thomas and Rachel married, is strongly connected with Lewis Carroll, the well known author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Carroll was born in the parsonage in 1832 and grew up there till 1843. His father, the Vicar of Daresbury, used to teach other children besides his own and it is quite possible that he taught some of the Moulding children.
